Martian Manhunter inked and colored!
I really have to get used to the idea of actually having a camera now. Anyways, I wasn’t able to take too many pics of day 2 but it was still amazing!
Did a few more commissions at the show, here’s one of the Joker putting on his morning face!

I have to say everyone was great, really nice, and if they reads this: Thank you all for making Big WOW a great experience for me!
Also I have to give a big thank you to Stuart Sayger for all the great advice he gave. I ended up sharing a big bag o candy with him all weekend (planned for the candy-bowl-trick, but there was no room for it!). Before I left, I gave em a few more and he was so thankful to me, he wouldn’t let me leave without a print! I felt guilty for taking one, however I really was eyeballing a Venom piece all weekend and well… YOINK!

He’s damn good! So thank you Stuart! Thank you Big WOW! Thank you everyone! And I can’t wait to do another show!
Argh so I got a new camera however some photos just don’t come out right. Still, enough came out ok. So let’s take a look at the first day of Big WOW Comicfest!!!
I arrived early for setup and found one of my neighbors is Stuart Sayger

His work is jaw dropping to say the least. He’s recently done some work for the new Man of Steel film too! We were both so busy, I hardly had a chance to chat with him. But he shared some interesting methods on inking I’ll have to try out!
And here’s my table…

So right away I can see where I can improve. Namely having more prints and getting a portfolio JUST for prints so people can look through through it (like Stuart had!) instead of having them take up room like that. It’d make it easier to transport too. This is what it’s all about, learning from mistakes!
Also to my far right was a Ghostbusters table, pretty cool. Viggo the Carpathian stared at me all day.

I was so excited when people bought my prints, I often forgot to take pictures, doh! But I did snap a few, this one’s with a guy who had some awesome tattoo work. Shoulda gotten the name of the tattoo artist.

I also spent most of the day doing some commissions! This one is of The Joker on Batman #0

I also did Sinestro in another’s sketchbook.

I have to say I was REALLY nervous in the beginning but I enjoyed myself in the end. Just wish the other pictures came out right but oh well. Big WOW isn’t over yet! One more day left! Gotta do some ink work for a commish, rest up, then it’s on to day two!!!
Jupiter’s Legacy #1 sketch cover with Blackstar. Not sure if I liked how this turned out but regardless I like the book!

Big WOW Comicfest! It’s happening May 18-19 at the San Jose Convention Center! It’s going to be a fairly big show with all sorts of guests. ”Smiling” Stan Lee will be there, along with J. Scott Campbell, Art Adams, and just so many big names. And all the way in the back, where the cool kids are, will be ME!
I’ll have four prints available, three of which were colored by Ross Campbell (no relation to J. Scott - I asked) Take a gander!..

Along with a new little sketchbook full of all sorts lil doodles. From drunken Grover to Hamburgler vs Wimpy, I squeezed as many as I could in there! Fourteen pages front and back!

I’ll be at table AA61 sketching and stuff! So come on by, hang out, and enjoy the show!

The clowned prince of crime (with his new Capullo face lift) all inked! I think this’ll be the fourth and final print for the show.
Cover to CHRONICLES OF A FULL-TIME FATHER, my new non-fiction collection of stories—comedy and tragedy.
Book will be out in June 2013. Props to Miss Shannon Forrey for the kick ass cover.
I worked with James on a few books and his is an interesting mind indeed. Though he has an interest in horror and the macabre, his latest work may even be more terrifying … fatherhood! Be sure to check it out!
